EZ Malone
EZ Does It
From the Outer Banks of North Carolina carrying the torch
of Piedmont Blues into the future comes .....E.Z. Malone.
E.Z. Malone, playing red-hot and rockin, cutting edge, electric blues
in the tradition of the masters.....Albert Collins, B.B. King, Freddie
King, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn and of course, Jimi
Hendrix. Backed by a hard driving rhythm section, E.Z. Malone pumps
up the crowd with lightning fast licks and high energy showmanship.
East coast born and raised, E.Z. has been singing since the age of five.
Adding that resource to his repitoire was a natural next step, since
he had been playing guitar since the age of four. His earliest efforts
were centered around the Malone Gospel Singers, a family based group
that sang in his father's church. Born the 12th in a family of 15, working
the family business seemed like a logical thing to do. But E.Z.'s understanding
of the blues go much deeper than roots in gospel music, E.Z.'s roots
in the blues extend deep into the harsher realities of life. E.Z. spent
some hard times with nowhere to live, no job and sometimes no food for
days at a time. But his faith in God and his talent brought him up out
of the streets and on to the stage of New York's Apollo Theater. And
you my friends are the beneficiary of that miracle of life......
January, 1998, E.Z. appeared on the nationally syndicated program "Showtime
at the Apollo". Although not the overall winner of the show, E.Z.
was very thankful to God to have the opportunity to perform at the prestigous
venue and bask in the raves that followed his performance. For a man
who only a couple of years ago was wandering the streets in shoes with
no soles, this was an acheivement of faith in God, belief in his God
given talents and a determination to make the best of what life offers.
E.Z. Malone is one of the best life has to offer.
