I started working as an EMT during undergrad. I also took a year off between undergrad and medical school to complete a teaching fellowship in the Biology Department at Dartmouth.

I first came to MMC as a visiting medical student on an away rotation, and I fell in love with the program, and was fortunate enough to come here for residency. Throughout my time here as a resident, I have worked with and learned from exceptional faculty. The EMS faculty in particular are a very engaged, very knowledgeable group, and the opportunity to continue working with and learning from them was hard to pass up. Additionally, Maine geographically provides such a wide breadth of EMS opportunities, from higher-resource and higher-volume city EMS services to lower-resource services and more rural and remote services. I am also a firm believer in living and training somewhere you enjoy outside of work, and Maine has no shortage of life and wellness outside of work settings.
