U.S. News & World Report has named Maine Medical Center (MMC) as the top hospital in Maine for 2023-2024. This is the 11th straight year U.S. News has named MMC “Best Regional Hospital.� U.S. News also rated MMC as “high performing� in 13 common procedures and conditions as well as in the specialty of Urology.

Maine Behavioral Healthcare (MBH) today announced the appointment of James Wolak, MD as Vice President of Medical Affairs, Intensive Services.

Masks will be available for all, and required in areas and circumstances where appropriate under health care protocols

The project is supported in part by a generous $100,000 donation by Former Maine Speaker of the House and U.S. Senate Candidate Sara Gideon.

The program, which helps vulnerable populations navigate the complexities of the health care system, has helped more than 162,000 people since 2001.

Maine Medical Center is one of just two programs in New England to earn a three- year accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer.

The organizations plan to enter a long-term partnership that will enable a greater investment in value-based models of care, emphasizing preventive services and chronic care management for AOAÌåÓýƽ̨’s senior patients.

The health care system is using the latest science to set standards for return to work protocols for care team members who contract COVID-19.

Appointments are available this week from Wednesday-Friday at 110 Free Street in Portland.

For the second straight year, all five AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ hospitals eligible for a grade from Leapfrog received the highest safety score offered.
