The updated rules are effective November 18 for PBMC and WCGH locations, medical practices and rural health centers. They are intended to safeguard patients, visitors and care team members during the coronavirus outbreak.

Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) and Waldo County General Hospital (WCGH) have earned top honors for prohibiting smoking and tobacco use on campus and addressing patient tobacco use, and two WCGH care team members received individual honors for supporting these efforts.

The new rules are effective Wednesday, November 18 for Southern Maine Health Care locations and medical practices. They are intended to safeguard patients, visitors and care team members during the ongoing pandemic.

While growing up in Rockland County, New York, Ryan Donohue witnessed the exceptional care provided to his sister through her complicated illness. It was her pulmonologist who took on the role as primary care provider, and his approach and skill left a lasting impression.

The site at 10 Goodall Drive in East Waterboro will open on Nov. 11 for COVID-19 testing for patients without symptoms.

Temporary Restrictions Designed to Protect Patients and Staff
