Waldo County General Hospital will begin offering diabetic foot care clinics for patients beginning early this fall.

Due to the high level of community interest in Waldo County General Hospital’s upcoming community forum regarding labor and delivery services, the hospital has moved the event to a larger venue. The forum will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. inside the Belfast Area High School Gym, located at 25 Lions Way in Belfast.

The installation of a GE Ascend CT scanner will bring “significant advancement in diagnostic imaging capabilities. AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Memorial Hospital,â€� according to Memorial President Bradley Chapman.

A strategic alliance between Pen Bay Medical Center and the food market run by Area Interfaith Outreach Food & Energy Assistance has resulted in the distribution of 27,176 pounds of food through pantry shelves set up in several hospital locations.

On July 17, 2024, Maine Behavioral Healthcare (MBH) will hold a benefit from 5:30 � 8 p.m. to raise funds for mental health services at the annual Signs of Hope fundraiser at the Portland Country Club, 11 Foreside Road, Falmouth, ME. Donna Dodge, RD, a dietitian new to Memorial Hospital, provides dietetic and nutrition services to patients to improve health outcomes. Dodge joined Memorial in 2024 and has been a registered dietician since 1990.

The AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ Preble Street Learning Collaborative (MHPSLC) is launching a mobile health unit to provide low-barrier, on-demand treatment for unhoused patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders in greater Portland.

For a person with a substance use disorder, the hardest part can be saying aloud that they are in too deep and need help. One such person found herself in this very position and scheduled an appointment with Memorial Hospital’s primary care comprehensive addiction medicine program.
