AOAÌåÓýƽ̨ and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine today announced they have reached an agreement that will keep Maine Medical Center in Anthem’s care provider network for the next two years.

Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital will offer weekly drive-thru flu clinics beginning in the first week of September and running through the end of October.

Funding from the National Institutes of Health will support the continued success of the Northern New England Clinical and Translational Research Network in improving the health of rural Maine.

The emergency department at Maine Medical Center (MMC) has earned an Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) 2022 Lantern Award for demonstrating exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research. Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC), part of AOAÌåÓýƽ̨, has expanded their mammogram screening services to reach all women in York country, whether or not they are current patients.

The testing center, located at 731 Commercial St. in Rockport, will be open from 8 to 10 am, Monday through Friday.

This is the 10th straight year that MMC has been named as a Best Regional Hospital. U.S. News also rated MMC as “high performing� in 14 common procedures and conditions included in the annual survey of U.S. hospitals.

The donation by Aji Djamali, MD, highlights the growing need for living donors here in Maine and across the country.
